Rich in its past, this region is a really air-opened museum. History and spiritual ways of life have mingled to produce great masterpieces: chateaux, gardens ,manor houses, churches and abbeys, fascinating for the romantic souls. The Valley was once the favourite neighborhood of the French Kings, as Capetians that established their dynasty at Orleans before moving the capital to Paris. Women who have inspired poets or who made history lived, died or passed around through the centuries.: Agnes Sorel ,Jeanne de France, Anne de Bretagne, Diane de Poitiers, Catherine de Medicis.
Great names of France literature and culture are linked with this bourgeois paradise: Francois Villon, Rabelais, Leonardo da Vinci,Voltaire, Balzac ,A.de Vigny.
Everywhere you go you will be filled with wonder, quieries, astonishment but...above all you will be left enchanted. |
