Hello, I live and teach in Hami, Xinjiang China. It is not on any tourist maps but its a great place. Since we have been here we have been skiing in the nearby mountains of "Balikun", visited tombs over 400 years old, visited a site full of "animal' shaped rocks, a 'ghost' city in the desert and fallen in love with the people. Hami is situated on the train line between Beijing and Urumqi in the western corner of Xinjiang. It is famous for its melons, but also produces cotton, wine, dried fruits and many other agricultural produce. Im no computer expert but will try to post some photos of the area and other places we have visited. If you have any questions I would be happy to answer. |
