Aleknagik Travel Guide: 4 reviews and 15 photos
There is a 14 mile road from Dillingham to Aleknagik Lake and in order to visit the village you must cross the lake - by snow machine in the winter and skiff in the summer and sometimes the ice is thin enough so neither choice is good. About 250 people live here and some commute to Dillingham for work. The mail is brought in twice a week in a small plane. There are plans to build a bridge to the village.
