Skylink's USA Page (under construction)

by Skylink - last update: Sep 9, 2002

This page is under construction. Pictures and more information will be added. My Sydney Australia page was the first page that I wrote. It is an example of a detailed page.

The United States is a large country. Sites to see are listed under individual cities. This page is mainly for tips and advice.

The United States was colonized in the early 1600's. Roanoke Island, North Carolina (The Lost Colony) and Plymouth, Massachusetts were early settlements. Indiginous people, such as the Indian tribes and the Eskimos (related to the Inuit in Canada) settled before then. There is evidence of Viking and possibly Chinese exploration of the Western Hemisphere before Mr. Columbus arrived in 1492.

The abundance of land has led cities of low population density (often called suburban sprawl). Some areas of New York and Chicago are exceptions.

All hotels require a deposit for a person's stay. The most convenient way to do this is with a credit card. Having cash for the night's stay is not good enough. You need the deposit too.
