Liechtenstein is often visited by tourists coming by tour bus. They eat lunch in Vaduz and leave. This is a pity because there is much to do in Liechtenstein. Each town is different.

While looking for a memorial, one man took the time to explain how a group of Ukrainians came to Liechtenstein near the end of World War II from Austria. The Prince refused to turn them in to the Russians because they would have faced certain execution due to their cooperation with the Germans. Liechtenstein was not a rich country in those days. It was a hardship to keep that many troops fed and housed. Eventually, the men were granted asylum and settled in Argentina. The British, on the other hand, were in a similar situation and did turn over men seeking asylum. These men were all shot. (More details on this soon).
