I have lived in the region of rivers and lakes of China over twenty years, but I have never seen so many river courses and bridges concentrate in a so small place. There are 7.6sqkm in Venice city and she is built on about 100 small islands, having 150 canals and over 400 bridges. There is not any car or bus in Venice. Traveler can only walk on foot. Various yachts and ˇ°gondolaˇ± sailed on the Grand Canal. A lot of small bridges that you can pass them with few several feet built across narrow water. Venice is a wonderful city. |
