Airplane Barajas airport Review

The Madrid airport Barajas is located 13 kilometers from the citycentre. The arrival hall of the international terminal is located on groundfloor. from there you can take the metro to all metro stations in Madrid. Outside the airportbuilding the busses arrive, which take 20 minutes to town. the bus starts from Terminal 1 to plaza Colon. they ride every 12 minute and cost 3 euro. There ar also taxis which take 20 minutes and cost approx 15 euro. If you want to fly inside Spain, Iberia has frequent flights to Barcelona. at an automate you can purchase tickets upto 15 minutes before departure. Span Air and Air Nostrum fly between Madrid and the regional capitals.

Parking - Madrid
Parking

It takes you a lot of time to find a parking place along the streets. So if you are in madrid you better find a hotel with parking facilities. There are several parkings in Madrid, the green shield means its free, the red one means it s not free. When you park your car wrongly your car gets trown away by police and it will cost you 150 euro to get it back. in the town s centrum you need a parking licence to park. you can buy them at the tabac shops and you need to put it visibly behind your window. (between 8 am and 8 pm).

Car - Madrid
Car

Most cartraffic touristic will come from France. Around Madrid there are two Circular highways, the M40 (outher) and M30 (inner). Going into the city use the inner one and leave at the exit of your destination. All highways lead to the M30. Riding in Madrid centre is an adventure sui generis. Madrilenians have a wild riding style, traffic shields are unclear or are not present, parking is often very difficult.
