Ahhh, Sierra Vista. In the middle of the desert. It's a great place to get out and hike. It's close to Tombstone (the famous wild west town) and Mexico as well. The military base, Fort Huachuca, is there and it's about 80 miles from Tucson. It is also at 5,000 feet elevation, so there is snow in the winter, while the summer is very hot with beautiful lightning storms. There are hundreds of deer that roam the area, and it's common to see them out grazing in the evening. |
