I live about 40 minutes from Venice and have been there three times. It's a wonderful place and best to go during Carnivale in February if you can stand the crowds. I have been there three times and each has been different. The first was during Carnivale, and although it was freezing outside we had a great time. The girl pictured above was just one of the many people in costume posing for pictures. The streets are very crowded during this time, but be patient and hold onto your belongings.
