Castle Casa Loma: A fairy-tale Scottish castle in the middle of Toronto. The castle is located on a hill with extensive gardens. You have to climb the Baldwin Steps (110 steps) to get a nice view of the castle and downtown Toronto.

Centre Island, Ward's Island and Hanla'īs Point are Toronto's main offshore islands in Lake Ontario. The islands are lined with beautiful beaches and parks. From the islands you have a breathtaking view to the skyline of Toronto. This is an absolute must on a beautiful day. I would recommend a Sunday, because there are many locals on the islands.

Directions: The islands are located just a 10 minute ferry ride across Toronto Harbour.

The most touristy site in Ontario, but definitely a must-see. The Niagara Falls are divided into the Canadian Falls (Horseshoe Falls) and the American Falls (see photo). Take a walk along the paths to see the falls from various locations. It is excellent. Explore the massive erosion caused by the falls in the last 12.000 years by walking downstream from its present location.

Directions: The Niagara Falls are located at the border to the USA. A trip from Toronto by coach (e.g. Trentway-Wagar, Greyhound) or by train (e.g. Via Rail) takes less than 2 hours.
