The main shopping street of Zermatt is the Bahnhofstrasse (Station street) which runs from the train station in the north to the Kirchplatz (Church Square) in the south. It is full with all sorts of shops; mainly selling tourist souvenirs and outdoor equipment. Many of the shops are even open on Sundays. Besides all the shops you also find fancy hotels, many cafes and nightlife venues here. The street seems to be bustling with tourists all day long. This is quite a contrast to the tranquility of the mountains.
