Villa Dislevski

Just before the start of the VT Euromeet 2011 we spent two nights in the Villa Dislevski which we had booked by e-mail in advance. The price was 43 Euro for 2 people.

The modern Villa belongs to two Macedonian brothers who both speak some German and probably also a bit English.

At that time we were the only guests in the building and therefore got one of the 3 bed apartments with a balcony facing the backyard. The surrounding area was very quiet at night, so we slept very well.

Our comfortable apartment also included a small kitchenette as well as a bathroom with a fancy shower with massage unit and radio. I must admit that at first I had problems to find out how to just take a shower here.

The buffet style breakfast included warm and cold dishes. We really enjoyed our time in the Villa Dislevski and compared to the Hotel Tino (see next tip) I would prefer the villa for a next stay in Ohrid.

Directions: The Villa Dislevski is situated just off the main lake promenade Kej Marshal Tito. It doesn't have views of the lake but is located in a quiet neighbourhood. A walk along the promenade to the old town takes about 10 minutes.

Hotel Tino Hotel Tino Review

During the VT Euromeet 2011 we spent two nights in a double room of Hotel Tino. The price for the room including breakfast was 50 Euro, which was a special rate for the VT meeting. Usually this kind of room costs 59 Euro.

With about 27 rooms in 4 storeys Hotel Tino is one of the larger hotels on Ohrid's lake front. We got a double room at the back of the building.

Instead of having a balcony it was very large and equipped with an office desk and a table with three chairs. The bathroom was a bit dated and the floor flooded when taking a shower.

Breakfast was buffet style and available until 11:30 a.m., which is definitely an advantage when having a sleep in.

All in all the hotel was totally adequate; however, if I had the choice I would prefer the Villa Dislevski (see previous tip) to the Hotel Tino for a next stay in Ohrid..

Directions: Hotel Tino can be found right at the main lake promenade Kej Marshal Tito. Ohrid's old town is a good 10 minutes walk away.
