The Czech capital Prague was for 8 days my holiday base on my trip in September 2003. The golden city is located at the river Vltava and is divided into 10 districts. About 1,2 million people live in Prague.
The essential sights are the Charles Bridge, the Prague Castle, the Old Town Square and the Wenceslas Square. The city offers a great variety of cafes, bars and restaurants to enjoy local and international cuisine and to drink the famous Czech beer.
From Prague I took daytrips by train to Kutna Hora and Karlstejn with its famous castle. Another highlight of my trip was the visit of the sold out Sparta Stadium (Toyota Arena) for the European Championships Qualifyer match between the Czech Republic and the Netherlands.

Fascinating page about the city, which is in my wish list for a long time... Charles Bridge (Karlov Most) reminds me the bridge in Heidelberg. Tynsky chram is one of the most beautiful Cathedrals in Europe I think. Thanks Holger for the virtual tour! |
