Church of the Annunciation, Supetar, Brac Island

In September 2008 we explored Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as Southern Croatia. On this trip we spent a few days on the beautiful island of Brac, mainly in Bol.

On our way from Bol to Split we came through Supetar which is not only the main transportation hub of the island, but with more than 3000 inhabitants also its biggest town.

Supetar is home to some picturesque beaches as well as worth seeing sights like the Church of the Annunciation and the Mausoleum of the Petrinovic family. With frequent ferry connections to Split, it is also a popular daytrip destination from the busy city.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Picturesque harbour; excellent ferry and bus connections.
Cons:Location on the north side of the island.

Great small page! Former Jugoslavian countries more and more intrigue me to take a trip to that side :) Of course, nowadays the most popular is Croatia :)

I like going to cemeteries of other countries as well...what a name - Supetar (almost like "Superstar!")...I'd like to try the Cedevita! Norman :)

Another beautiful Dalmatian islands! It brought back lots of good memories. Some years ago I spent a week in Bol. June was a perfect time, just before masses of tourists started to come to the famous 'Zlatni rat' beach :)
