In January 2007 we took a daytrip from Zurich in Switzerland to Vaduz in the Principality of Liechtenstein. With only about 5200 inhabitants it is one of the smallest capitals in Europe. Interestingly enough, it is not the largest town in the country.
Vaduz is situated inbetween the river Rhine and the Alps of Liechtenstein. The town's main landmark is the castle which overlooks Vaduz from a hilltop. Other interesting sights include the St. Florin's Cathedral, the Town Hall and the Red House.
From Vaduz we also visited the neigbouring Schaan, which is Liechtenstein's largest town and also headed off to Felkirch, a medieval town in Austria's county Vorarlberg. At the end of the day we have been to 3 different countries.
