The Beeches Hotel is a small family run hotel which is situated in a quiet neigbourhood opposite Roath Park. They have about 10 rooms with either private or shared bath. Prices range from 25 to 60 Pounds per night, including a delicious Welsh breakfast. The staff are friendly and helpful.

I stayed the last 2 of my 4 Cardiff days in the Beeches Hotel and I can really recommend the place.

Directions: The Beeches Hotel is situated about 2 miles to the north of the city centre; just next to Roath Park. Many local buses serve that area (e.g. # 28, 29, 57, 58). Recommended bus stops to get off for the Beeches Hotel are at Ninian Road or Albany Road.

Austin's Guesthouse Austin's Hotel Review

I stayed the first 2 of my 4 Cardiff days in Austin's Guesthouse, where I had a single room with own sink, but shared bath for 28 GBP per night. The price included an average breakfast.

Austin's is a small and basic guesthouse. Unfortunately, the staff was not too friendly. The main advantage of this place is its perfect central location for a very affordable price.

Comparison: less expensive than average

Directions: Austin's Guesthouse is located right in the city centre at the bank of the river Taff, just behind the Millenium Stadium. The Castle can be reached in 5 minutes and the central bus and train station are only 10 minutes on foot away.
