Take a daytrip by train or bus to the historic city of Stirling. It is located just between Edinburgh and Glasgow, so that a trip takes only about 1 hour. Stirling has played an important role in Scotlands rich historical heritage, therefore it offers many well preserved cultural sites in its Old Town. The famous Stirling Castle is situated on a hill and offers panoramic views of the Forth Valley. Plenty of restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops can be found in the modern city centre at the foot of the Old Town.
