London Hotel Tips by HORSCHECK

In February 2007 and 2008 I stayed in the Hilton Hotel Islington on business. It offers all amenities which you expect from this class of hotels: Friendly staff and large fully equipped rooms.

Rooms can be booked with or without the excellent buffet style breakfast. Also dinner at the Hilton Restaurant can be included in your room booking. However, plenty of restaurants such as Thai Square, ASK Pizza or Pizza Express can be found in the neigbourhood.

You probably get the best rates when booking online, but be prepared that your credit card will be charged directly once the room is confirmed.

Also note that the room rates can be quite expensive when a fair or similar event takes place in the adjacent Business Design Centre.

In December 2004 I stayed two nights in the MacDonald Hotel which seems to be a perfect place for budget travellers. The staff of this family run hotel is friendly and very helpful at any time. The rooms are clean, very quiet and equipped with private bath or sink and shared bath.

On one of my very first trips to London in the early 1990's I stayed with friends in a private Bed and Brekfast accomodation which we had booked through a travel agency. It was located in London Steatham, about 30 minutes south of London's city centre.

Unique Qualities: Bed and Breakfast accomodations offer various advantages which make your holiday unforgettable: You get in contact with locals and get an idea of their way of life.
You get in contact with other travellers.
The cooked English breakfast is excellent and keeps you full until the afternoon.
