    Getting TO/AROUND: My Germanwings flight from Cologne arrived at Barcelona El Prat airport. The airport has 3 terminals and is located about 12 km southwest of the city centre. There is a frequent train service between the airport and the city centre. Single ticket: 2,20 EURO (2003).

    Getting TO/AROUND: Barcelona has two main train stations . Estacio Franca is located northeast of the city centre. It is for trains to the south of France. Estacio Sants at the Placa dels Paisos Catalans is for the spanish long distance trains (e.g. Madrid, Valencia, Andalucia) and international trains to France.

    Getting TO/AROUND: The Metro of Barcelona is operated by TMB (Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona). The 5 lines serve 111 stations. A single metro ticket costs 1,05 EURO, while 10 tickets for Metro and bus (T-10) cost 5,80 EURO (2003). Moreover travelpasses for 1 to 5 days are available.

    Getting TO/AROUND: The funicular of Tibidabo is the longest and steepest funicular of Barcelona. It starts at Placa Doctor Andreu northwest of the city centre and arrives at the top of the Tibidabo Mountain (532 m). A return ticket costs 3 EURO (2003).

    Getting TO/AROUND: The Funicular of Montjuic is the most comfortable possibility to reach the top of the Montjuic. It operates since 1928 from the Paral-lel metro. It is integrated in the metro network and can be used with a normal metro ticket. The trip takes about 2 mins for the distance of 760 m up the hill.

     Great page on Barcelona Holger. The Arc de Triomf is especially beautiful as is the Plaza Espana. I also enjoy cities where you can easily walk to see the main attractions.
