  • Take a sightseeing tour on local transport, bus number 27. The bus serves a route along the Paseo del Prado and the Paseo de la Castellana between Estacion de Atocha and Plaza de Castilla.

On this route you can see many well known sights like the Museo del Prado, Plaza del Cibeles, Torres de Colon and the Estadio Bernabeu.

Last but not least you can do some people watching on the bus.

Please also check my transportation tip for more information about the local transport in Madrid.

  • Have a look at the beautiful tile street signs in the centre of Madrid. The photo shows the sign of "Plaza de Santa Ana".

I was always saving Madrid for when Newcastle might play Real, but that isn't going to happen any time soon, sadly. Thanks for the virtual tour to keep me going till then ;-)

Wonderful Madrid page. We have only seen the inside of its airport, on our way to Malaga. The leaning office building is a modern version of the leaning tower of Pisa. Plaza de Cebeles is indeed impressive.
