Colourful advertisements at the lakes - Copenhagen

The Danish capital Copenhagen was my holiday destination at the end of March 2004. With 600.000 inhabitants is it one of Scandinavia's largest cities.

As one of Europe's oldest capitals it offers both historical and modern sights. So besides the famous Little Mermaid and the Tivoli Gardens, you can visit lovely palaces, churches and other old buildings. Last but not least, Copenhagen has a lively cafe, pub and restaurant scene.

One of the many highlights of this trip was a VT meeting, with members from Scandinavia and Bangladesh. Finally, a visit of the Parken Stadium for a football match between FC Kobenhavn and FC Midtjylland was another great experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Historical and modern sights in lively and pleasant surroundings
Cons:Photos won't be nice if the the sky is grey..... :o)

One of my favourite cities in Europe, that is. I enjoyed re-visiting it in virtual form, your photos reminded me of those days when I went there frequently. Huh, didn't know taking pics in Christiania is forbidded, though.

Interesting Copenhagen page. Certainly bring back fond memories of our many trips to that city over the past years. Little Mermaid, Town Hall Square and Stroget are undoubtedly our favourite places. Day trip to Malmö is certainly recommended. ~ho & pang
