I arrived from Kazakhstan. From the border I was offered taxi rides for the 26km for Y40. Instead I walked for 5km and a nice guy gave me a ride on his motorcycle. The busses to Urumqi leave at 17:00 daily (Beijing time) for Y136. This is a
'Chinese city' with wide streets etc.
