My husband and I are always looking for special fares to travel, and thanks to one of LTU's fare sale we disovered a surprisingly beautiful Germany.
Trying not to drive ourselves crazy, we opted to take the train from Dusseldorf to Fussen, bus to castle Neuschwanstein, take the romantic road bus to Wuerzburg, train to Koblenz, from Koblenz take Mosel River Cruise to Mosel-Kern, hike to Burg Eltz, train back to Koblenz, train to Mainz, Rhine River Cruise to Koblenz, train to Cologne, train to Dusseldorf, fly back home. It takes some planning and scheduling, as long as you know where you are going, it's nice and easy to travel in Germany by train, almost all the sights are close to the train stations, especially the Cologne Cathedral is kind of on the parking lot of the train station.
Travelogue has more pics, I'll add more as I dig deeper. |
