World heritage site by UNESCO Guimarães, the rival town of Braga (exacerbated by the soccer matches) is a lovely town with a beautiful city centre crowned by a castle, a palace many churches, manor houses and museums. A cable car connects the city to the top of mountain where a beautiful landscape can be seen. Outside the city centre, but not far away there are still quaint paths through farms and old houses fields and old washing basins that give to the city an peculiar look.
