Vouzela is an old land dating back to the XI century. One of the proofs of this past is the Matriz Church part of an old monastery. But the city has many other churches as S. Frei Gil or Misericórdia. There are also small palaces, wonderful bakeries, a nice belvedere and a small museum that will give to your trip a special taste. |
| | An Abandoned Bridge that came to Life In 1913 railroad came to Vouzela. It had a decisive impulse on this land's economy. However some decades ago the line was shut down. Today there are only remains of that line such as this bridge next to Vouzela's Park.
Today it is possible to walk on the bridge and have a panoramic view of the village. |
