"Welcome to Akiyoshi-do" Akiyoshi by yumyum

Akiyoshi Travel Guide: 5 reviews and 17 photos

These Karst tablelands contain something special underground. From the hundereds of caves, one big one is accessible. Often the Akiyoshi-do cave is overrun by people but I was lucky and had stretches of all to myself.

Apparently the cave is more than 300'000 years old and it got it's current name in 1926 by Crown Prince Showa, who visited then.

I have not been Akiyoshidai. Good to know how it looks. By the way your dog looks cute and he/she is taking it easy.

Another jump to the East! Very interesting cave, but Pammukale is closer and has more chances to be visited one day. Thanks Sonja for the virtual tour!

Lovely page. I wonder if also in Japan they say "hai, hai" like if they understand and never deliver you actually what you ordered ;-)
