I used Sendai to break the Tokyo-Hokkaido train journey and only stayed one night. I didn't explore much of the town as I just visited 2 places of special interest.
- In a nutshell:Take a break on your journey north.

Thanks for sharing your photos & your impressions of Sendai. The city looked very modern and now the people who survived have virtually nothing left of their city.
I had no idea you've been to Sendai. What depressing news! Thanks for giving an impression how it looked before disaster struck.
How terrible to think that all this is probably destroyed now! Thank you for your tips, I would love to visit this town when it is rebuilt again.
The Mediatheque does look amazing and the added bonus of free entrance and free internet.
Sieht ja wirklich toll aus, die Mediathek.
Hi Sonja, thanks for stopping by my Uluru page. I will always have good memories of Uluru. Thanks for the tips about Japan. Greetings from Malta. Anne
Nice photos in your tips and travelogue. I had never heard of this town before, but it looks like a good place to spend the night while on a train journey.
Wow...an empty subway train in Japan!
Love the modern architecture at the Mediatheque!
Interesting tips you have here = I hate trying to find anything when it is dark!
