We came to Goerlitz on Easter Saturday on a day trip by train from Dresden. I liked Goerlitz very much and wouldn't mind to return in the warm season.
The Silesian Goerlitz came to Sachsen in 1945 while the other side of the Neisse river became Zgorzelec in Poland.
- In a nutshell:A must if you can.

A good page on what sounds to be quite an interesting town to pay a visit.
you are correct, fountains here are definitly nice.
On a planned trip to Dresden, we hope to spend some time here. Thanks for the tips and good pictures. It helps a lot to get a "lay of the land" and avoid searching for the sites upon arrival.
Walking again through your German pages :-) Oh! somebody told me about german statues packed up in winter, is it the same for fountains? Thanks
There IS a Jewish community! Small, but interesting, and they're working on a renovation of the synagogue. It's called "Jüdische Gemeinde Görlitz" - very helpful! Alex Jacobowitz
Great looking Jugendstil railway station! But it's too bad they only use six tracks out of the original twelve. Thanks for including a tip on the bicycle paths and signs.
Very good page, Sonja. Enjoyed your comments on Görlitz. Yup, Silesian Bratwurst is a bit different, lol.
Great page Sonja! Looks like Görlitz is worth a visit :)
Looks like you had a nice daytrip to Görlitz! The departmentstore, railway station and Strassburg Passage are all beautiful buildings. Görlitz is a new place for me, even if the Swedes have been there!
So cosy place! A lovely page. Irina
