We came to Kamenari on a day trip from Herceg Novi which also took us to Lepetane and Stoliv across the Vertige part of the bay. All of these are villages on the shore of Kotor Bay. Kamenari and Lepetane lie on Vertige and Stoliv lies on the inner bay.
The closest point which marks the entrance to the inner bay of Kotor is only 200 meters wide and in the old days the people span iron chains in order to stop the ships entering the inner bay. That way they kept for instance the Turkish invaders out.
- In a nutshell:Great ferry crossing!

Excellent tips, Sonja!
The Herceg Novi-Kamenari bus and the Kamenari-Lepetane ferry sound like they'll be very useful to us on our trip! Thank you for sharing this info. I'd been studying the Blueline bus timetable online and was a little concerned by the lack of buses heading from Herceg Novi to Kotor and Tivat, but now that I know about the bus to Kamenari and the ferry, you've put my mind at rest!
Very nice small page. We didn't have the time to stop in this place.
Looks like a very scenic ferry ride!
The Kotor BAy looks lovely and it sounds like you had a nice daytrip!
I'd like to visit the Paradise of Montenegro some day... ><><><
You seem to have had lovely weather for this outing, and the scenery here looks lovely!
Hi Sonja, this is a nice new page with fine photos! Great that the ferry is free for pedestrians.
thats an interesting place to go, thanks for sharing !
Fantastic little page with outstanding photos. This free ferry is definitely well worth a try as it offers scenic views of Perast and the Kotor bay. Highly recommended. :-)
