Christmas market and ice rink

Luedenscheid features a yearly Christmas market which is actually rather small but nice. It has its Gluehwein (mulled wine) stall and also Bratwurst stalls which I love.

On the Rathausplatz you will find the ice rink. You can rent skates if you haven't got your own.

Food market

On Saturday morning there is a fruit and vegetable etc. market in the center of Luedenscheid. They actually sell also a few non-food things. It is located in front of the Town Hall (Rathaus).

Reibekuchen

Reibekuchen or also called Reibeplaetzchen are made of raw grated potatoes and are a local dish in this area. It's nice to eat with Apfelmus (applemash). This is something I can recommend to the vegetarians.

Lichtrouten festival

Every 2 years there is a light festival which shows some brilliant local and international light installations. Unfortunately, the budget was rather tight this year but still there was a high quality to be seen.

City festival

Every year in the first half of September there is a city festival for a weekend. There is a lot of beer drinking going on as well as music performances. Also, there is a whole variety of local and foreign food stalls.
