I wasn't there in the best of weather and it is very windy there. Kronstadt's main attraction is probably that it used to be a closed city for a long time. It has a historical connection with the revolution. Here lots of marine ships and submarines were harboured. You can still see a heap of them.

How to get here:
by marshrutka from Metro Retchnoi Voksal or by tour (buy in front of Gostinny Dvor) or have friends take you there by car (that's how I got there)

In 2004 Kronstadt had its 300 years jubilee.

Nice to see Kronshtadt on your page ! I passed by this island on cruiseships many times in times of the cold war when it was completely off-limits for tourists

Another city of Russian Fleet Glory (like Sevastopol). The Cathedral is very impressive. I've been there in 1997 and this my page is waiting for its turn... Thanks Sonja for reminding!
