Ples Travel Guide: 25 reviews and 53 photos

I came to Ples (written Plyos or Plyoss in most English guidebooks) on a Russian tour group visiting Golden Ring towns.

Ples has a population of about 4000 people and is situated 65 km from Kostroma or 71 km from Ivanovo. Ples is more than 800 years old and therefore one of the older Russian towns. Sometimes it’s called Russian Switzerland because of its hilly paysage.

Interessante Seite! Und jetzt weiss ich endlich woher die vielen "Schweizar" in den russischen und postsowjetistanischen Hotels her kommen.

A wonderful guide! We're dreaming to go to Ples, may be next summer - your information about water and food is very important. Greetings, Irina

Beautiful landscapes and churches, but it seems most houses need a good upgrade and renewal. Btw. Ples means "dance" in Croatian ;)

The museum would hold a lot of interest for me with all the dressing up and interesting things to see. Loved the birch trees & pretty flowers both captured well!! Enjoyed my virtual tour Sonja

I've never heard of winter and summer churches before! What a grad job you have done with your presentation of Ples. I enjoyed your fine photographs and well written narrations.
