Welcome to Samobor

by yumyum - last update: Apr 22, 2007

I was taken here by VTers danijelita and diocletianvs on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Thank you!

Samobor is a historical town which became a royal free market town in 1242. Feudal lords gave it a hard time for about 3 centuries. From 1809 till 1813 it was occupied by Napeleon's army. From then on more and more visitors came and today it's still a popular outing for Zagrebians as it's only about 20 km from Zagreb.

Lovely town. Wonderful yellow church and I really enjoyed the houses that overhang the river. Very nice.

I did that in Bologna, went up the hill following the 12 stations of the cross - No View There Either! Great restaurant tips ;)

What a lovely area. Everything looks so old and in a time warp. I bet The Kremsnita tastes absolutely divine. Also thanks Sonja for visiting my Arnhem pages. I love the towns in Holland.

Looks like a lovely place for a daytrip, to walk around and to sit in one of the outdoor cafes by the plaza.
