I was taken here for sightseeing by Gili_S. I didn't know about Porvoo before then. Thanks Gil!
Porvoo is the second oldest city in Finnland and was founded in 1346. In 1708 it was destroyed by the advancing Russian army. Today it is a very popluar tourist spot with its old part and beautiful church, which unfortunately was severely burnt on 29th May 1206. |
