"Welcome to Unna" Unna by yumyum

Unna Travel Guide: 19 reviews and 41 photos

We came to Unna by car to visit the Center of international light-art and the old part of Unna with its many half-timbered houses. Unna lies to the east of Dortmund.

Unna was first mentioned in 1032. Already in 1290 it received the city rights. Today it has about 70'000 inhabitants.

I was curious what Unna had to offer - but it seems to be a nice place. Thanks for sharing!

I really enjoy seeing half-timbered houses, and Unna sure has some nice ones, esp. the Standesamt and Nicolai house.

Excellent tips and photos! Unna looks wonderful. Too bad I missed such a lovely place while I was in Germany. Oh, well, I guess I need to go back there someday.

You visited a brewery!? And where I could get a Schnitzel here? ;-) Well, Unna is usually a name of a dog in Finland ;-)

Hi Sonja, thanks for posting VT's first and only Unna page. I've never been there, but I have been curious about it since a former student of mine moved there. (I think the reason was that she married someone from there.)

Definitely an "off-the-beaten-track" destination. Never thought there would be anything to see in Unna. Thanks for prooving me wrong :)
