Ponte Tresa Travel Guide: 12 reviews and 20 photos
There are two Ponte Tresa's, one on the Swiss side of the border (which can currently not be found in the VT database until 2007) and the other one across the Tresa river which is officially called Lavena Ponte Tresa. The old community Lavena goes back to the 7th centrury. It joined up with Ponte Tresa (Italian side) which was founded in 1846 and grew after the bridge was built across the Tresa river. Lavena had about 1300 inhabitants and after joining together the population was about 5300. The town lies 275 meters above sea level and is situated in Varese province in Lombardia region. The post code is 21037. There is a Saturday morning market till 3 pm.

Looks like a fun trip... Thanks for your page!...
I got quite dizzy scrolling down your travel pages...my, you have travelled. Great tips. Thanks
Interesting page! Also like the foto of the train:-)
It was nice to find your page about this not-so-famous town. I took the little train to Lugano and enjoyed the trip so much!
the train does look as if it is smiling
Interesting page and tips. Glad to hear Switzerland joins Shengen treaty together with Poland, in 2008! I like borders (and different cultures) but I don't like border check-ups :-).
Ahh, I wish I had a little Italian town across here - I would go shopping every day :-)) The train looks cute - as if it is a smiley on the front :-)
In all the time I have gone to Italy I have never been here. Your pictures make it worth the time to visit. Than you.
Looks a bit like a well hidden pearl in Italy! The lake looks great. Travel on!
So you have in fact been to Italy lately!
