La Cure is situated on the French/Swiss border in the Jura which is called Franche-Comté in French. The village is rather non-descript but we saw a little shop and a café.

La Cure is one of four villages that makes up des Rousses. There is a downhill skiing station in sight.

Vandelle house is built half in France, half in Switzerland which for a long time allowed a lot of "legal" smuggling (from the kitchen to the dining room!). Until very recently, for this reason, it was allowed to sell tax free but it is now over! Too bad!

I have never heard of La Cure before. On such a sunny day you visited the hiking trail Route Royal sounds like a great walk to do.
