Cannot believe I missed this excellent page. Love your restaurant tips, especially the Gasthaus in Hohensyburg looks appealing. Had no idea that there are so many interesting churches in Dortmund.
I wondered if they auctioned the rhino's or whether they are still there. Really love your photo's of them!
There are rhinos in various places usually as advertisments for some shop or other. So there are still some around :-)
Hi, the U-Building is of the Union Brewery. (de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dortmu...)
Hi Sonja, I'm going to Dortmund tomorrow, so I've just taken another look at some of your tips to see what there is to do and see there. It will be interesting to see if they have found any new use for that big U-building and for their industrial ruins. (I have opera tickets for both evenings but will try to rent a bicycle and see some other things during the days.)
I do not know if we ever get to this area-so thanks for the sites and the wonderful old town hall pictures.
Just when you think you've researched all the best German towns & cities another one appears. Lovely page Sonja, Thank you.
Sonja, Dortmund looks very attractive to me...Thanks for your photos and nice story! ><><><><
Great Dortmund travel page with lovely photographs. Dortmund certainly attracts us quite a lot especially Hohensyburg ruins, Florian Tower, the Town Hall and Peace Square. We hope to visit Dortmund one day. ~ho & pang
