Tropical Paradise

ahhh....life is good!
Cancun is a great travel spot for anyone really, from college age to happy couples to families with small children to grandparents- there's something for everyone. If you want to relax, relax. If you want to do and see and shop and experience, go to it! They've got a great nightlife in "downtown" Cancun with many restaurants to choose from- whether your budget is upscale fine cuisine or authentic roadside taco shack. Nearby is a state eco-park where you can scuba and take part in all kinds of water activities.
Obviously, Cancun is a hotspot for college kids during spring break so I would avoid it during March/April. But for the off season traveler, it promises white sand, turquoise water and a bit of paradise that won't break your budget.
the pictures don't do justice!

Turquoise

The water in Cancun is the temperature of bathwater. It is also 3 shades of bluish green that I had never had the pleasure of seeing before. I really couldn't get over how beautiful the color of the water was...really! There were times of the day when we would look out on the horizon and we could not tell where the water ended and the sky began.
can't believe we're in such a beautiful place!

Hard Work

Our main goal for this trip was to relax...and that's exactly what we did! Every day consisted of a late breakfast and then plotting our spot by the pool. When we wanted a change in scenery from the pool area (various drinking games, kids activities, etc. going on) we would hightail it beachside for a dip in the ocean and find a cozy location to work...on our tan!

Pros:"BEAUTIFUL! less touristy than I thought."
Cons:"humid. could potentially be touristy in high season"
In A Nutshell:"I got a small taste of Cancun and I can't wait to taste more!"
