Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: The north and south islands have all kinds of different weather, while it can be incredibly hot and sunny (you need tons of sun tan lotion in the Bay of Islands) you'll need some sweaters and rain gear on the south island.
Photo Equipment: For US travelers a 120-240 curent converter will be required for recharging all your digital camera batteries.
