Getting TO/AROUND: Obviously driving in Boston is a little crazy, unless you know how to do it, and have a lot of money. Boston is one of the most expensive cities in terms of parking fees. Garages are insane and parking is, needless to say, limited. The commuter rail comes in from most points north (N. Station) and lots of points south (S. Station). Also, Greyhound and Peter Pan buses operate into S. Station. From there, the T and walking is the best way to go. Cabs are average I guess...but aren't they all so expensive?
The MBTA (only really known as the T) is really easy to figure out. There are maps posted at all stops and booths open for advice. All you have to do is use a little common sense. They raised the price (from $.85-$1) for both the train and the bus (now $.75) so you might want to buy a pass if you're going to be getting on and off a lot. All passes can be bought at the major stations: Park Street, Downtown Crossing, South Station, etc.
