The only time I have ever been to Abita Springs was in 1999 to tour the Abita Beer Brewery and then eat at the Abita Brew Pub... with a group of Environmental Engineers on a not-quite-school-sponsored trip. We had lots of fun, and did get a little bit more in depth info on the brewing process, including their brewery wastewater treatment process (they do create some nasty high oxygen demanding stuff). I need to go back, because they have an open tap room (or at least did) and last time I only tried the Abita Root Beer!
