Sydney is the place most people think of when you mention "Australia". Along with koala BEARS (don't you Ausssies love it when they say that?!) and kangaroos. The capital of New South Wales state, it is the nations most populous city and center of finance for Australia and increasingly the Pacific basin. It is a brash and confident city-you can feel it clearly as you walk the footpaths in the center and pick up the vibe that peole want to make money here. Much like New York. In fact I was there to throw my c.v. (resume) around to hedge fund managers as I used to work in that industry in Boston. This 2005 trip was the first to Australia in which I did not leave Sydney! Of course I left ample time to visit the nude beaches around Sydney, and will detail those for you. Glamorous though it is, Sydney is alas, not my favorite part of Australia. I am partial to Noosa, Byron Bay, the northern Queensland islands, Broome and Perth. But Sydney is where the action is, and the vast majority of visitors from overseas arrive at Sydney Airport. Any visitor to Australia should spend a few days there at least sampling the sights, restaurants, and beach life.
