Hanoi was the first visit of my life to a non-occidental country/city. I remember that after my first walk in the streets, back to the hotel, I said to myself: "I don't want to go back to the streets!!" Let me explain. The roads where jam packed with people and motorcycle. Kids where trying to sell us all kind of gagets so that they can eat (that was a hudge choc!). Crossing the streets was in my head as hard as climbing mount Everest (dramatizing). And the city smelled like #!%?$/!! The next day all these fears vanished from my head and I really started to get use to the new culture and even started to love it! And now, not a day goes by without thinking of the time I had in Vietnam and his capital Hanoi. |
