Off to New Horizons

Thanks for visiting my site.
Just a bit about me. Most of my travels occured during my service in the navy and my professional career. Having been in charge for exports I had the opportunity to see many places of the world. Most of my time I enjoyed during my assignments in Far East and South East Asia, where I spent almost 30 years. Some of the cities on other continents I just visited once others countless times. Lucky enough to visit 5 continents during the course of my busy years.

My Favorite Companion for Photography

My Cute Fuji FinePix S 5000

Though not really fitting into a chest pocket of a shirt is that powerful cute S 5000 camera, but into the pocket of my jacket . With a magnificent 10x optical (plus a 2.2 digital) zoom I can reach any far away objects. Mostly I use the JPEG format, but also available is the professional RAW, which does not allow the camera to use its internal software.
In other words, take the shots and work on them at your computer, particularly the white-balance.

Now I trust to fill up the next pages during my retirement.

Now I enjoy VIP treatment on all travels, in hotels, rent-a-car services, musicals, etc. it is much more enjoyable to travel and benefit from my membership.

3 Generations of Vossen

Son, Grandson, Myself

During a birthday party my daughter caught us when we had just finished to eat the cake.

My son lives about 300 km away - therefore the chance to talk is rather seldom. However, internet chats, SMS and email are used with almost daily frequency.

Sleeping soundly on my lap

Neither from the face of my youngest grandson nor from me much can be seen.

Nevertheless I found it worthwhile to publish this photo because of two reasons:

1. he wanted to sleep an my lap, which he did soundly
2. and I was happy to keep him there for one hour despite I was scheduled for an appointment - and I let it go! (of course I phoned)

The feeling to have someone close to me was more important!

Having moved

I love my little new apartment, which is located right along the river Rhine. My balcony is towards South East.

I cannot hide my feelings ...

My Grandpa hir.Miss him terribly,1 meetin,emails enuf for me 2 know him.He left footprints n my heart.God bless his Soul. He travelled well to places that forever left great memories w/ Him,4ever.Its like a wind you cant c it but you can feel it.
