MANHATTAN (by Walt Whitman)
The mechanics of the city, the masters, well-form'd, beautiful-faced, looking you straight in the eyes, Trottoirs throng'd, vehicles, Broadway, the women, the shops and shows, A million people--manners free and superb--open voices-- hospitality--the most courageous and friendly young men, City of hurried and sparkling waters! city of spires and masts! City nested in bays! my city!
Every trip to New York is a different experience. Each time I visit this fantastic city, I come back re-energized and wishin' I was back there again!
The vibrant energy is like no other place in the world....it's a city full of multi sub-cultures.
This year's Memorial Weekend was going to be a *spinoff* of last year's Memorial Weekend which was spent in NYC as well.
The only difference is that the I had ONE and ONLY one mission to accomplish: Partaaaaaay.
It's a weekend set to let off some steam...soak up the New York nightlife once more........see old friends and meet new ones!
Then add a little *VT TWIST* and you have the makings of a superb weekend for a GEISHA_GIRL_GOLIGHTLY like me!
I built a New York page previously, in the "old VT." That page is full of all of my tips, pics, and recommendations from the past decade I spent in NYC.
This page will be a little different. If you're looking for advice on museums, sightseeing tours, and general TOURIST info, you won't find it here.
This page will be more an "OFF BEAT PATH."
This page is dedicated to all of those "Timeless Party Girls" (and guys) who love New York just as much as I do!
Here is my *memorable* Memorial Weekend in New York......... |

| Pros: | "The shopping, dining, dancing, and GORGEOUS crowds! You're ignited with the city's vibrant energy once you hit the streets" | | Cons: | "You can never take full advantage of those expensive hotel rooms you pay for!" | | In A Nutshell: | "The run o' the mill cab rides are the BEST!" |

Night out in NYC the night before leaving for Roatan. I'm sure there will be stories. | Carmela71 Mon Dec 3, 2007 20:27 UTC I am heavily trying to convince the party girl and the sleeping dog ... lets see what happends! :-) | Norali Mon Apr 23, 2007 05:48 UTC The Murakami was cool but I used to love the graffitti LV (back in 2001, I think).Twas light blue graffiti "LOUIS VUITTON"s set on dark material. I just started working, that year & couldn't afford it. It's still somewhere in my brains. |
