  • Nightlife Spot: Supperclub

There's nothing more exciting than entering into a new venue where you never know what's going to happen next. If you're looking for a truly unpredictable dining experience, San Francisco Supperclub is definitely a must see activity!

This is the first U.S. outpost of this trendy restaurant/lounge/bar/dance club. The other two venues are located in both Amsterdam and Rome.

If entering into a bar area that's surrounded by red leather walls and where the drinks are served by gorgeous eye candy.....then being greeted by fabulous Supermodel Drag Queens who lead you to an ultra modern and hip dining area where you're served a 5-course meal IN BED by gorgeous flame-throwing, cat walking waitstaff who also offer MASSAGES in between each course is your idea of a night out on the town.........then by golly geez this is YOUR kinda hangout!

Be prepared to spend some $$$. Set menu costs $70 per person (not including drinks and gratuity). If you have special dietary concerns, you may need to consult the restaurant ahead time. The menu changes each night, and you never know what you will be served.

The chefs are known for jazzing up their presentation (such as serving ahi tuna appetizers in martini glasses!)

Dinner seating starts at 7:30pm for all guests, and the main dining area turns into a dancefloor after dinner.

Reservations are REQUIRED. Tables are difficult to snag on a Saturday night!

%cbThe Mint Karaoke Lounge: Where everyone's a ROCK STAR!
  • Tip Rating:
  • Nightlife Spot: The Mint Karaoke Lounge

The Mint Lounge is the SF Bay Area's best known karaoke bars........and the best all around!

Priding myself on being a "Karaoke Connoisseur" ;-)) I have sampled bars and pubs all over the county, country, and world, and nowhere else do they have the type of atmosphere.........and seriously extensive karaoke PLAYLIST that The Mint offers.

It's a great place to host a party for a big group and the resident DJs (or ***KJs*** as they're known at The Mint) really get the crowd pumped up during your performance on stage.

State of the art karaoke machines.......and they've even added inflatable guitars for your performance!

The Mint Lounge is situated on Market Street, near the Castro District of SF, and it's really a local's favorite hangout.

They're open 365 days a year from 4pm to 2am .... Saturdays and Sundays are when the true hardcore Karaokers come out to belt out their tunes.

If you're just visiting the city, or you live here, The Mint is a MUST SEE ACTIVITY!

Don't be alarmed if you find yourself belting out a few of Donna Summer's Greatest Disco Hits, and you suddenly find yourself acquiring several background dancers behind you on stage !!!

Dancing is optional here, and it's always a scene if someone picks just the right song!

No cover charge, and no charge for a song.

(But if you "grease" the KJs palm with a few bills, he may let you slide past the sometimes 2 HOUR wait for a spot onstage!)

We took Johnny and friends through a stroll down Broadway and Columbus. The heart of North Beach.

This area must have seemed pretty *tame* to our boy Johnny after coming back from the seedy side of the Red Light in A'dam.

Us "swingers" took this photo opportunity to send a shout out to our Soul-Sister Hexepatty in Florida.

    This one's for you Hexe!!!!!

More Parties in SF: Nightlife in the city? How...
  • Tip Rating:

  • Nightlife in the city? How about a little DAYLIFE???
Kelly's Mission Rock at the China Basin in San Francisco has the hippest daytime venue around in the summertime. On its regular days, Kelly's Mission Rock is a landmark maritime restaurant known for its relaxed atmosphere and spectacular views of the bay.....but come summertime it opens up to a host of numerous outdoor club parties!
Summer in the city by the bay means 'Second Sundays @ Kelly's Mission Rock!' Every second Sunday of the summer months, it's a huge, spectacular party with all of the well-known 'Yay-Area' DJs spinning their latest mixes. We've been blessed this summer with gorgeous, fog-less weather which makes for a much more worthwile event at Kelly's.

There are 2 floors with DJs mixing House, Deep House, Progressive House, Techno, Trance.....anything and everything to keep the crowd on the floors and out basking in the sun!! The beautiful 'club crowds' who stayed up the night before come rollin' in with their heads pounding but all freshened up for the Sunday event that lasts from 12pm to 10pm (then, if it's still NOT enough, there are after-parties that take place at several local clubs). The parties last all day and night!

Be sure to arrive early and buy your tickets online before the venue if possible. The lines can get quite long during these Second Sunday events.

(Folks must make this their last stop after Sunday mass!)

Dress Code: Dress code? How about UNDRESS code? The event takes place both indoors and outdoors, and on a hot summer day, I guarantee Minimal dress code is enforced. Shirtless men and tube top-clad women fill the dancefloor. Just smell the aroma of CK Contradiction mixed with Hawaiian Tropic SPF4.

Don't forget the sunglasses for sure! After partying the night before, the shades are good source for hiding the blood-shot eyes!

  • Nightlife Spot: Mini Meeting with DGeorge10 and the Geisha_Girl

Our resident Keralian BAD BOY, David George (dgeorge10) made a stopover in San Francisco en route to Boston to mix business with decadent pleasure. I thought I'd play "gracious hostess" once more and give a little sample of what he missed out at our recent SF VT MADNESS BLOWOUT.

It was a short....but very memorable mini VT meeting in the city!

  • Nightlife Spot: Ramblas

Our first stop was at RAMBLAS in the Mission District of San Francisco. Dgeorge met up with his old Grad School buddies and invited me to join them!

The food and drinks were great... the company was even greater! The service was friendly and attentive.

When asked how Dgeorge and I knew each other...it was simply stated that we found each other online. At first I told his buddies I was a MAIL ORDER BRIDE and their Keralian buddy found me whilst "perusing" one night. They said knowing, David.....nothing suprises them! (although I wondered why some of them almost spit up their empanadas after I said that!)

In the end, we confessed the truth. We're just a bunch of wacky travelers having fun at this incredible Virtual Tourist website!!!!

  • Nightlife Spot: Storytelling at Ramblas

After a few pitchers of sangria, Dgeorge gets a BURST of creativity and engineers a fascinating fable for our waitress..........it was like a sudden epiphany of sorts. Or perhaps a bit of POLTERGEIST ???

Suddenly, his voice alters into a hint of some remote African dialect, and he tells tales of how this eccentric waitress was once a Nubian Princess from the Tanzanian lands.......she escapes and tries to find herself in the jungles of America.

    Fascinating stuff, man!!
