I knew those COINS would work!!!

Thank you Ms. Hepburn.........

This is a photo of the famous Trevi Fountain in Rome. It was taken during my first visit to Rome 10 years ago. Legend says that if you toss a coin into the fountain over your shoulder, you will one day return to the eternal city.

I guess it worked. I returned back to the Eternal City 10 years after this photo was taken.

My first introduction to Rome was via the television. As a little girl, I was a huge fan of the Audrey Hepburn classic, "Roman Holiday." Watching Audrey play the role of the Princess who secretly tries to leave her very public royal life and escape to this fascinating city......grabbed my attention. I watched as she was whisked through the busy streets of Rome on a Vespa.......she ate Gelato on the Spanish Steps.........and was charmed by a handsome gentlemen throughout her journey.

As an 8 year-old kid in the suburbs, I wanted to be Audrey. As an adult....I became that princess (for 2 days in Rome).

I ate my gelato on the steps of Rome. I rode on the back of a charming Roman's Vespa........but I did it all in full technicolor (and not BLACK AND WHITE!)

Life imitates art.........ITALIAN STYLE!!

Rome 2002

After leaving the simple luxuries of Positano, we mix right into the hustle and bustle of our Roman holiday. Playing "dress up" and shopping around the Piazza di Spagna area was quite a treat.......so were the sweet deals at La Perla!

One of the highlights of Rome was attending Sunday mass at the Vatican's Santo Pietro Basilica.
(A little "soulful cleansing" doesn't hurt!)

The Spanish Steps

With all that shopping going on in the Piazza di Spagna.....our handsome travel companion found himself too mesmerized by the crowds to pay a visit to Cavalli.
Our favorite Shopping Companion..
