About a 25 min. drive outside of the Normandy city of Rouen is this quaint little town, Saint-Jacques-sur-Darnétal. I was brought to this charming French country town and was delightfully surprised with French cooking lessons at the renowned, Auberge Saint Jacques.
The lessons were conducted by Le Notre-trained Chef, Olivier Lelong, who also owns and manages the Auberge.
It was a fun-filled day full of slicing and dicing.....and all sorts of delectable new aromas. I always had a fascination with French cuisine, but never in my life did I DARE attempt to prepare a dish. But there I was. That was ME with the Salmon Tartare with Red Onion Creme Fraiche and roast rabbit stuffed with foie gras! Who knew?? ;-) |
