Dearest Auntie,
I can't believe you kept your promise! I actually didn't think that I would be able to cross off things like going to Paris, Italy, and the Anne Frank House from my list of '100 Things to Do' ....until I was much older.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking me to Europe! It was beyond amazing and so much fun! I loved everything.
On this trip you taught me many different things about traveling -- the cities/cultures--many things I didn't know before. I also liked hearing about your many stories of traveling, and now from this trip, I have many stories of my own to tell. :-) These are the many more things that I will never forget.
I really loved experiencing the different atmospheres of the cities...hearing all the different languages...seeing many different buildings and monuments, etc.. I really loved all of the different cities the same, bit I LOVED PARIS a little bit more than the others. I don't think I could ever get tired of looking at all of those Parisian buildings, the bridges, the river, the monuments, etc... What I also love is the style there.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for teaching things about the cities, countries, cultures, traveling, etc....and opening my eyes to new places. Lastly, thank you so much for keeping your promise and making some dreams of mine come true, and for being such an awesome, cool, and great role model to look up to.
I am so lucky to have you in my family and in my life.
I love you!
Comfort on difficult days
Smiles when sadness intrudes
Rainbows to follow the clouds
Laughter to kiss your lips
Sunsets to warm your heart
Hugs when spirits sag
Beauty for your eyes to see
Friendships to brighten your being
Faith so that you can believe
Confidence for when you doubt
Courage to know yourself
Patience to accept the truth
Love to complete your life......
One day your life will flash before your eyes---
Make sure it's worth watching....

It was Oscar Wilde who once said, "I prefer women with a past. They're always so damned amusing to talk to." Well, I'm sure this past year in the life of the Geisha_Girl would make Oscar quite amused ....
if he wasn't so dead.

(Hey Lemon-Drop crew, this includes ya'll!) and strangers from around the world who have touched my life throughout these journeys.
This is the world as seen through my eyes. This is the world that makes me smile.....
When I posted my very first homepage on VirtualTourist, I had this precious photo of my Goddaughter as one of my first photos. This has always been a favorite pic of mine because it depicts such a beaming and excited burst of energy from such a little creature.
I had mentioned back then that when my Goddaughter was around this age the picture was taken, she already started her fascination with Paris.
Ever since she watched "The Rugrats in Paris" and "Madeleine," her dream was to someday visit the City of Light and it has always been my dream to introduce her to one of my favorite cities. Each time her "Fairy Godmother" would head off to her Parisian playground, she would send me off with a hug, a kiss.....and a SHOPPING LIST! When I would return from my Paris Escapades, she would welcome me home with drawings of images she would imagine I would see on my adventures. I still have her drawings of the Eiffel Tower posted on the office wall.
When she was 5 years old, I made a promise to her that if she studied French and learned the basics, I would whisk her off to Paris for her 16th birthday. Well, as time really does fly when you're having FUN, who knew her 16th Birthday is happening this year!!!
She never forgot the promise I made to her, as she is now in her second year of studying the French Language and soon she will be experiencing one of her lifelong dreams to come true. I am taking her to Paris.
And she has that same beaming and excited burst of energy look on her face when I told her the news of our upcoming journey. It's my treat to her for keeping up with her end of the bargain......and for having that same *spark* in her eyes when anyone mentions Paris.
I want her to learn just how small our planet really is and how her passport will be one of her most treasured possessions. I have no doubt that her introduction to Paris as her first overseas trip will leave a lasting impression on her....and she will be hungry for more.
Just like her Fairy Godmother.
It has been 10 years and the Lemon Drop Crew is still going strong!
More Road Trips, Boat Trips, and Trippy Trips to some of the world's best hotspots are in the works.
There are those people who make our lives so much more enriched unconditionally.
I can't imagine my life without you guys.....
